Create and distribute a Template Nios4

Through the Nios4 platform, you can create a fully customized data management based on your needs. In addition to being able to share the database with other users, it is also possible to create and distribute the model of the latter.

This template is loaded from the package install feature within the help menu of all versions of Nios4. When the package is loaded, the program will recognize it as a database model and create a new one.

Template Creation

Currently to create the model you need to use the Windows version of Nios4. Enter the options and select the Database tab. Select the database and select the function Create database template from the appropriate menu.

The feature is only present if the database is yours. You cannot export databases that have been shared with you.

Before the actual creation of the model the program will give the possibility to select the tables that in addition to their structure, must include in the package also the records currently loaded in them.
At this point the program will create a file in nios4 format, deleting all the data and references of the starting database users.

Reselling Nios4 templates

You can resell your creations in various ways.

The most direct is to resell their business as a consultancy service for the development and maintenance of the system. In this case your customer will pay for local and cloud licenses directly to the Nios4 platform, while everything else will be a direct working relationship between you and him. The seed of the template, ie the serial number that identifies the type and the cost to be applied will be those of Nios4.

The second methodology is to require its own seed of distribution. In this case, after creating the database, the model must be sent directly to the offices of Nios4 through the appropriate channels. A custom suit will be applied to the model. This seed allows you to set your own selling price including the commission to be recognized to the platform. This way when your customer installs the template and wants to purchase the local or cloud license will proceed to pay the amount you decided. The purchase will be made using the sales channels of Nios4 which will then send your part according to the agreements. The custom suit also allows you to have access to the welcome section of the database to allow you to modify it to your liking.

The third method is to create a whitelabel system. In this case you will have at your disposal a version of Nios4 re-branded with your name and logo. Depending on the type of subscription you choose you will have your own windows program to distribute at your leisure, the web version and the tabs of your apps for Android and Ios. Licenses can be purchased either through Nios4’s standard sales systems or through yours.

Disable the editing of the created database

You may not want to allow your customer to modify the database created by your template. Currently this is only possible if you have a whitelabel system. The nature of Nios4 does not allow directly to block this possibility. The only way is to create a user without the editing options and give that to your customer. In practice all the databases will still be in your name and then you will share them with your customer by removing the permissions.

In this way you will always have control over the database but it will be you who will have to manage the payments since by system the owners are you.
